What is near space? Near space is that region of the atmosphere above 60,000 feet and below the boundary of space, or 328,000 feet. Near space is reached with helium-filled weather balloons and it is the cheapest and easiest way for the public to send experiments into space-like environment.
There are currently active seven near space programs in Idaho.
