There are three annaul star parties in Idaho. A star party is a mini convention of telescope hobbyists. Often telescopes are set up at a dark sky location and there can be presentations. And of course there's always astronomical viewing at night. Star parties are open to the public. However, if you plan to attend one, contact the astronomy club hosting it. There may be special parking locations so that your car's headlights will not blind attendees at the star party. If you need a flashlight, please cover it over with a red filter (this can be as simple as red paper or tape). The red light will let you see while preserving everyone's night vision.
